Mentors are needed to assist with Youth Formation for all grade levels. Sessions are held on Monday evenings throughout the school year.
We graciously thank all who have already volunteered to help with the Youth Formation program. Below are some frequently asked questions.
What would I have to do as a mentor?
Þ To be a good mentor, you need to pray for the youth.
Þ You need to be willing to read and pray with the lessons Before lesson time.
Þ You need to attend YF sessions and mentor trainings throughout the school year.
What happens if I get sick or cannot make it to class due to work or other obligations?
Þ Of course, dedication and commitment are two of the biggest responsibilities of the mentor. We do realize that life happens. We try to have at least 2 adults assigned to each small group of youth so that when ‘life happens’ we can easily continue with YF.
I’m a teenager. Can I help with YF?
Þ Yes, Yes, Yes! Oftentimes, teens and young adults are the best helpers/mentors.
Þ We do ask that the commitment to prayer, class, and mass attendance be made by the teen as well as the adult.
Do I have to plan lessons?
Þ Lessons are pre-planned for mentors, and scripts for the lessons are provided ahead of time.
Þ Mentors can add their own twist; however, this is not required.
Þ Mentors add their own personal touch when they feel it is appropriate to the lesson.
What grade levels need help?
Þ Currently, all grade levels need more help.
Þ We do have some mentors and are looking for more dedicated, youth-loving individuals to help continue with the success of our program.
