Liturgical ministry is a wonderful opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call to serve one another and to utilize the talents and gifts that God has bestowed upon you.
When the Church gathers to celebrate the Mass or other sacraments, we do not come together merely as a crowd; we unite in a variety of ministries and roles.
Whether you participate through preparation and planning or through a community service role during the Mass, the talents and gifts of parishioners will help make our liturgies truly life-giving celebrations.
Please consider prayerfully joining one of these ministries.
For more information about any of these ministries, please contact the Church Office.
"Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you". Romans 12:4-6 New Living Translation (NLT)
Lectors - proclaim the Sacred Scripture. A clear voice and commitment to serve monthly are required. Lectors can be young or old.
Commentators - welcome those present at Mass with an Introduction to the Mass. This ministry also proclaims the Universal Prayers of the Faithful and provides parish announcements. A clear voice and commitment to serve monthly are required. There is no "age requirement" for this ministry.
Music Ministry - Music plays a significant role in our Sunday Mass celebrations. Participating in this ministry can be incredibly fulfilling and rewarding, as it deepens your faith and fosters a sense of community. Together, we engage in prayer and learn to sing in a way that encourages the entire congregation to join in, creating a joyful atmosphere as we celebrate through song.
There are various ways to participate in the Music Ministry beyond singing or playing an instrument. For instance, we need volunteers with strong computer skills to help with music books, as well as individuals who are organized and detail-oriented. These contributions will enhance your experience and support the success of our music program.
If you’re not ready to take on a larger role, you can always sing with the congregation or attend our Wednesday meetings to become familiar with the songs, helping you feel more comfortable singing at Mass.
Music Ministry meetings will resume on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. in the Annex when there are more members. The meeting will consist of discussing the weekly scripture, song selections, and practicing songs.
